Golden Breath American Tai Chi Celebrates World Tai Chi Day
Golden Breath American
Tai Chi will commemorate
World Tai Chi Day
on Saturday, April
29, by holding
tai chi demonstrations
along Cottman Avenue
as well as conducting
free tai chi workshops
in their studio
located at 1928
Cottman Avenue. Millions
of people around
the world will
be participating
in the event simultaneously
to celebrate the
benefits of this
ancient art form.
Golden Breath differs
from other tai chi
forms by focusing
on the lungs and
breathing. People
with severe health
issues, including
Parkinson’s,
MS, and AIDS, have
seen tremendous improvements
in their health by
practicing the dancelike
movements. The organization
which has thousands
of people practicing
nationally has its
headquarters in Northeast
Philadelphia.
The students will
be demonstrating
the tai chi movements
on Cottman Avenue
between Castor and
Loretta starting
at 10:00 a.m. in
conjunction with
people worldwide.
The free workshops,
open to the general
community, will start
at 11:00 a.m. and
run through 3:00
p.m. Refreshments
will be served.
